ALSA Local Chapter Universitas Sriwijaya participated in the 7th Seminar and National Assembly in Makassar to propose as an observer, and in the 8th Seminar and National Assembly in Bandung, ALSA LC Unsri was accepted as the observer by the forum. Then the next year, in the 9th Seminar and National Assembly in Surabaya, based on the fit and proper test of a Local Chapter which has been passed, ALSA LC Unsri was officially accepted as the Local Chapter of ALSA National Chapter Indonesia in March 21st, 2001.
Members of ALSA LC UNSRI has basecamp named “Poka”, means Pondok Kapak (Axe Cottage). These axe cottage is made from woods just like the meaning of the name itself and it is located right in front of our Director’s Home. These axe cottage is usually used to gathering, to save the sheafs and all the goods of ALSA LC UNSRI.
